    Houston, TX., September 15, 2011—West Houston Medical Center (WHMC) announces being named one of the top performers in using evidence-based care processes to improve patient outcomes by The Joint Commission. WHMC is one of 405 organizations identified as attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for the full year of 2010. These recognized facilities represent approximately 14 percent of Joint Commission-accredited hospitals and critical access hospitals that report core measure performance data.

    HCA Gulf Coast Division announced today that West Houston Medical Center (WHMC) and The Woman’s Hospital of Texas (TWHT) are forming an affiliation that will provide women in West Houston convenient access to TWHT physicians specializing in high risk pregnancy. The affiliation will be known as The Woman’s Hospital of Texas at West Houston and launches in January 2011.
